ONDINA E GORAN

Story time. Presentation of the illustrated book by Chiara Signorini Gremigni

in collaboration with the readers of Nati per Leggere (Born to Read) from the Tarcento Library

This year, the Great River has mysteriously dried up and Ondina cannot see Goran, her dearest friend. Ondina is very sad but she does not give up: thanks to the affection of Grandmother Raimonda and four special gifts, she decides to embark on a long journey full of pitfalls to reach him.

Ondina e Goran is an illustrated book that stems from a multidisciplinary project involving theatre, music and literature. It is a journey that attempts to describe Friuli: its landscape, from the sea to the mountains, travelling backwards along the course of a river; some of its traditions and legends; it offers a glimpse of some of the peculiarities of this border territory, a point of contact between different cultures, together with the dynamics and events of the recent historical past.

It does so using the language of fairy tales, of “storytellers of the people”, accessible to all, readable on multiple levels, transversal and essential because it focuses on the events and direct experiences of the protagonists.

An audio version has also been produced to accompany the printed book, with the aim of ensuring accessibility even for those who have difficulty reading or are unable to do so.
