Synopsis
Berenice the sheep is happy and proud to be part of a flock, and she would like all her sheep friends to be convinced of this too. They are a team, sharing needs, habits and interests. This gives them security. And living under the protection of a shepherd is also a privilege, very reassuring.
One night, however, as it is getting dark and it is time to return to the sheepfold, Berenice looks up and notices something shining in the sky. It is the first time she has looked up, as she spends most of her days with her head down grazing.
She gets distracted and while everyone else returns home, she remains outside, alone, in the dark.
At night, she discovers a new world, inhabited by beings that cannot be seen during the day. Everything is different from what she is used to. Berenice is excited by her discoveries, but she is also afraid of the unknown.
She has to hold out all night, with her ears pricked and her eyes wide open, curious but cautious. Then the sun will rise again and she will be able to rejoin her flock and her shepherd.
But how will it be for Berenice to return to everyday life after spending the night out?
When she rejoins her flock, what will she retain from her night-time experience, what will she want to share? And when evening comes again, what will she choose: to return to the sheepfold with the others, enriched by her experiences, or to stay out another night and have a new adventure? There is no right answer.
The important thing is to have the opportunity to make a choice. And only those who take risks and have the courage to cross the forest at night have this opportunity.
